What is a Lean & Green Meal?

When in the Weight Loss Getting Healthy Phase 1, a Lean & Green Meal  consists of :
Lean protein and vegetables once a day, or any time that works best with your schedule, You can prepare the Lean & Green Meal yourself, grab it on the go, or enjoy it in a restaurant -- as long as you follow the Lean & Green Meal Guidelines

Lean Meat
Leanest
Fish, Game meat, 98% lean meat or any meatless option protein
Leaner
Fish, 95%-97% lean meat or any meatless option protein
Lean
Fish, 85%-94% lean or any meatless option protein

Green
any three 1/2 cup servings of  Green Lower Carb to Higher Carb..

My Lean & Green usually consists of

Taco Salad
2 cups of mixed Salad, a mix of  a 1/2 cup red peppers, celery, mushrooms
2 Tablespoons of Salsa
6 ounces of Ground Turkey with a Dry Mexican Seasoning..

It really is good. We have this at least twice a week.

stuck, stop hording you silly body

I been stuck rolling between the same two pounds.... Gonna try to increase water today to 125 ounces, I learned a tip last night. Gonna not eat my lean and green today and eat one more medifast bar.  Hopefully those two things will help. I have Yo-yoed my self to death over the years... So my body is trying to get ahead of itself and go into starve mode... I wish the body would just accept the fact that it is going to get healthy and to stop hording. The inlaws finished their first week. She lost 8 pounds and he lost 11 pounds. I am so proud of them for wanting to get healthy.  How are you doing? I have many friends right now doing little things in there day. Like watching how much creamer they use in their coffee. Ain't that great!! I am proud of everyone that is czring about themselves.  Have a great Tuesday... Drink you water :)

What is happening? Officially One Month Down!!!!

So here is the news on all that is going on... Putter (my hubby has lost 40 pounds). His Pants are falling right off his body..Which can make for a fun time :). I am still hovering around the 22 pounds lost... But, being I am a female.. I expect next week will have huge results... once all the water leaves my system.
Went and Saw the doc on friday... Total Cholestrol, I am a 93!!!! That is damn good he said :) I am happy!!! All my other numbers were awesome as well. My A1C blood Sugar was 6.2... That is also awesome... I am getting Healthy... My MIL dropped 8 pounds this week... and My FIL hasn't said...yet. But, I know his numbers are huge... cause he ain't drinking alcohol either. :) I am so happy for him. My Aunt from Vegas and her Hubby are also gonna Get off The Fat Bus.. With us...yeah...  this weekend was full of fun... Today I have had my 4 meals already. Getting Ready to Make Taco Salad without the Taco Shell... Then for Dessert I am having a Medifast Shake with a Rootbeer flavor to make a Float!!! Yummy...
I am sure I will remember more later.. Checking in with ya tomorrow!!!

Saboteur, Wally World and Advice from Lois

One thing I should say is I am on this Take Shape for Life... and Lois brought up a great topic. Losing the weight is the easy part. It's the maintenance, that is hard. This lifestyle plan that I am on use's the Medifast foods... but Then Take Shape For Life comes in and works with you on the Transition part. Where you develop your skills for eating healthy and staying healthy. Living a healthy lifestyle. After Transition your not left on your own. Then, there is the maintenance part... The part for Life.. so you never ever step on the Fat Bus Again. I love all the support I get from other people on the plan, who are in transition or on Maintenance. Also the support I am getting from friends and family. If your a Saboteur...

my new lifestyle doesn't allow me to be friends with you. That simple. Why would you want to hang with someone that doesn't support health? What are your feelings on Saboteurs?

I am Obese!!!

First I will say I am now 48 years old. The Mother of two. One is 27 the other 25, I have two Grand Children and a wonderful  husband. I have tried every diet in the world. So many I can't remember them all. I have type 2 diabetes, asthma, high cholesterol, high blood pressure. Isn't that enough?  I yo-yoed my weight up to one pound shy of the dreaded 300 pounds... Yikes.. it hurts just to write that down. My husband is overweight also. A friend of ours that had went on the weight loss plan called "Take Shape for Life" had lost 107 pounds in 6 months. We have watched him in this journey. So he suggested maybe we would like to check this out.  He has been on maintenance for about a year. He is doing well and is very happy with his choice.
If your interested in what I am talking about go to www.getoffthefatbus.com. I have a list of reason why this lifestyle plan is working for us. I have currently been on the plan for 3.5 weeks and have lost 20 pounds. My husband has lost 30 pounds.


I was taking 360 units a day of lantus insulin, metformin, byetta and novolog (fast acting insulin). After 3.5 weeks I am now on 75 units of lantus and 10 mg of byetta. My blood sugars are clocking in at an average blood sugar level of 95. Used to have levels in the 300's... again that dreaded 300 number..yikes. I feel a lot better, a lot more energy in this short amount of time. I hope you will take this journey along side me... I will have good days and bad days... real life
